When we think about Business Consultants we think of someone who should be delivering RESULTS. As your Business Consultant, it is our job to plan and organize the workload, determine the focus of the work, and the key deliverables.
Before seeking outside help always make sure you should have Quantifiable goals that can be measured and here’s why….
Every small business should have two types of concrete, measurable goals: short term and long term. One that can motivate employees on a day-to-day basis while the other motivates the company and its management for the long run. Having both goals for the “here and now” as well as the future translates to better results on both the individual scale as well as the overall, business scale. If you can’t track and measure your results, you can’t accurately analyze how well your business strategy is or isn’t working.
So now when you’ve hired outside resources to help you solve a business problem, don’t give those consultants a free pass that releases them from producing results. Instead, change the definition of their job…
Get them in the boat with you so that you’re ALL accountable for creating value.
Your Business Consultant should indeed be held accountable to collaborate with their clients to produce results and not just produce a “report”
We have enough Consultants that can generate advice for someone else but look for the ones that will turn your Quantifiable goals into RESULTS!
